Although a large city, it has a small town feel to it in some places, thanks to its numerous parks, river walks, and trails. You can either live in the center for a city life feel, or 10-15 minutes away from the city center, in the countryside. The city has a lot to offer, with a rich culture, excellent local restaurants, breweries, and outdoor activities. It is only 45 minutes away from Raglan, one of the world’s most renowned surfing spot. It is also only 40 minutes away from Hobbiton, Matamata (for Lord of the Rings fans), or to the Waitomo Caves for some fun-filled thrills (seeing the Glow-worms caves, or going for some Black-water rafting experience). If you drive 1.5 hour north, you can find the beautiful town of Tauranga, known for its Mount Maunganui, its beaches, and various beach town activities. Only 2 hours away, there is the lake Rotorua with numerous outdoor activities and cultural hikes. Muriel Cave Human Resources Manager Waikato After Hours Veterinary Hospital |
