Swing Shift Urgent Care Veterinarian for Private Practice in Long Beach, CA
Bixby Animal Clinic, a full service GP and urgent care private practice, has been a part of the local community for two decades. As a committed private practice hospital, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service to our clients and exceptional medical care to our patients. To continue our mission of excellence in pet health, we’re now hiring a swing shift Urgent Care doctor to care for our furry patients!
Our facility works hand in hand with board-certified internists, dermatologists, cardiologists, orthopedic surgeons, and criticalists. We have also made a significant investment in our team members so you can focus on delivering the highest quality medicine. Every Associate is supported by a Doctor’s Assistant in addition to RVTs, Vet Assistants, and Pharmacy Technician, all dedicated to our mission of providing excellent patient outcomes.
To further support our urgent care patients, we can now refer critical and emergent cases to our 24/7 ER hospital in Torrance, Bixby Animal Hospital.
Our Long Beach practice, newly expanded to 6500 sq. ft, is fully equipped to handle all urgent care cases:
8 exam rooms, 2 surgery suites, ICU, isolation, radiology, doctors and administrative offices
Digital full-body radiography and digital dental radiography
In-house lab with Idexx Catalyst, SnapPro, Abaxis PTPTT, and CBC machines
Full suite of dental equipment
Cold laser
Ultrasound
Vessel sealing equipment
In-house and online pharmacy
Paperless records management supported by an upgraded IT network infrastructure

We’re looking for experienced DVMs who are passionate about the field of veterinary medicine and want to grow with our hospital.
You’ll have the freedom that a private practice offers to practice medicine the way you want, while having the backing of experienced DVM colleagues as you pursue professional growth.

3/12 or 4/10 schedules
Schedule includes one weekend day per week, with option to do rotating weekends

Requirements
Your Skills and Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
- 1 or more years experience
- Valid license to practice in California, prior to start date
- Commitment to practicing medicine in accordance with CA VMB standards and veterinary medical ethics
- Exemplary behavior in all matters of hospital leadership
- Delivering timely, comprehensive medical care to patients
