Palmer Veterinary Clinic has proudly served our community since 1958, providing high-quality care for both companion animals and livestock. We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our team. Whether your passion lies in companion animal medicine and surgery, or in caring for dairy, equine, and small ruminant patients, we have opportunities that fit your interests.
Our small animal facility is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, a comprehensive in-house laboratory, and a dedicated surgical suite. You’ll be supported by a skilled and caring team who values collaboration and patient-centered care.
Our large animal practice is primarily ambulatory, with well-outfitted veterinary trucks, ultrasounds, a portable digital radiography system, and additional diagnostic and treatment tools provided to help you succeed in the field.
Located in northern New York near the Adirondack State Park, Plattsburgh offers endless outdoor recreation – from hiking and skiing to kayaking and fishing – all just outside your door. We’re only an hour’s drive from both Burlington, VT and Montreal, QC, giving you easy access to vibrant cultural and travel opportunities. With several nearby airports, travel beyond the region is simple as well.
Job Type: Full-time (4, ten hour shifts)
Compensation & Benefits:
Starting salary: $120,000 (based on experience) plus monthly production bonus

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution
- Active veterinary license in the state of practice (in good standing)
- Proficiency in diagnosing, treating, and managing common small animal conditions
- Surgical skills, including routine spay/neuter and soft tissue procedures
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills to thrive in a busy environment
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with veterinary technicians and support staff
- Willingness to handle emergency cases and urgent situations when needed
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends
- Continuing education mindset—dedication to professional growth and staying current with veterinary advancements
