The SPCA of East Texas is seeking to add a full time spay/neuter surgeon to perform high volume spay/neuter.This position is supported by an experienced surgery team consisting of 3 highly qualified vet techs and provides an excelllent opportunity to work in a low stress environment without the headaches of private practice. Thus allowing you to focus on the development of high quality spay/neuter skills and the on-going diverse medical needs of the dogs and cats accepted into our rescue program.
Located in beautiful East Texas, the SNIPPET Clinic has completed over 25,000 spay/neuter surgeries since opening our doors in 2014. Our clinic is open to the public but also provides the services needed to the dogs and cats rescued for rehoming the SPCA of ETX Rehoming Program. With our new clinic design and acreage already acquired, our short term goals include the construction and relocation to a brand new clinic to better serve the needs of our community.
Job Description includes the following:
Annual starting salary $85,000.00 -$125,000.00 (commensurate with experience)
Flexible schedule to include 4 surgery days per week
Assessment and supervision of rehabiliation needs of SPCA ETX dogs and cats
3 days off per week
Surgery team includes 3 experienced surgical techs
High volume surgical training provided through Texas Litter Control Education
2 weeks paid vacation annually
9 paid holidays annually

DVM license renewal & registration fees
Texas State licensing assistance (if needed)

Licensed Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in good standing
Comfortable and able to perform spay/neuter surgery proficiently
1+ years experience practicing small animal veterinary medicine
Willing to train in the specialization of high volume spay/neuter procedures
