Are you an equine surgeon looking for an opportunity to do things a little differently than the 90 hour per week status quo? What if you could live and practice in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, where outdoor opportunities abound, and you actually had time outside of work to enjoy them (or your family, or your partner, or your horse, or heck, even playing the fiddle if that’s your jam)? And what if that practice had pretty much all the toys (beautiful hospital, surgery suite, arthroscopy, fracture repair instruments, ProStride, IRAP, PRP, Artemis regenerative laser, competent and experienced staff), and was a pleasant and rewarding place to come to work, and allowed flexibility in the work schedule too?
We are a 7 doctor, 2 intern practice in the gorgeous high desert, mountain town that is Bend, Oregon, offering equine primary and referral care both in house and on an ambulatory basis (with a pretty small call radius). We also have a small animal division, so if you’re looking to do small animal surgery, that’s an option.
We’re looking for an experienced board certified surgeon to replace a retiring partner, to service both our surgical case load, and to augment our sports medicine practice. We are family-friendly and would welcome a part-time (2-4 days per week) surgeon. Full time is also an option, depending on how much non-surgical caseload you desire. Surgical call would be 50% for a pretty chill surgical emergency caseload.
We cherish our practice culture, and are looking for someone to build upon that. Please don’t bother to reach out to us if you thinking using interns for dart boards during surgery is good sport. Please do reach out if you enjoy a collaborative approach, mentoring, striving for excellence in all things, and a really great clientele who value their animals. There is opportunity for you to build the type of practice you want. If you have been missing aspects of general practice, or have always wanted to X, whatever that may be, there is room for that.
We do require job applicants be ACVS board certified, and experienced.
