The Pet Wellness Center of Southern Illinois is a multi-doctor practice offering the highest quality veterinary medicine in the South Central Illinois region. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who values practicing state of the art medicine in a friendly, team-oriented environment. You will be practicing in a new 4200 square foot hospital that is fully equipped with state of the art digital radiology, dental radiology, a pharmacy, laser therapy, ultrasound, endoscopy, a fully equipped, state of the art surgery suite, a fully integrated IDEXX software system, as well as, IDEXX in-house blood machines, and a great support staff of assistants and technicians.

We are certified Feline Friendly, AAHA accredited and working towards our Fear Free certification. We pride ourselves on a low-stress environment with a strong emphasis on personal growth, mentoring, and client interaction. Through daily discussion, doctor case rounds, and consultations with specialists, we strive to offer the best veterinary care available. We have easy access to internal, as well as, outside specialists and consistent access to a local board certified surgeon. All of our doctors are aided by capable and friendly support staff.

We are located in the pleasant, growing micropolitan area of Effingham, Illinois which is a progressive and forward thinking community at the crossroads of Interstates I-70 and I-57. Among the many amenities in Effingham are a state of the art fitness center, the Trek Trail, great schools, many restaurants including a farm to table restaurant with a national presence, a 1500 seat performing arts center, a lovely winery, a dog park in development, and picturesque Lake Sara with 600 acres of water and 27 miles of shoreline. The city is also home to many festivals and celebrations throughout the year including an Artisan Fair, The Effing-Ham Jam, Downtown Christmas Celebration, multiple car shows, music fests, and an active farmer’s market.

Effingham, Illinois is very pet friendly, with many local businesses allowing you to bring your furry friends inside with you. Effingham is known for it’s small town charm while, at the same time, living, working, and breathing like larger community. Multiple businesses with a nationwide presence have their home offices in Effingham. Banking, Medical Services, Transportation, and Manufacturing are key employment sectors in the area. The metropolitan areas of St. Louis, MO is a quick commute just 90 minutes to the west, and Indianapolis and Chicago to the east and north are easy commutes for weekend excursions. For nature lovers there are many local treats and Shawnee National Forest is located two hours to the south.

Effingham is pleased to have great public and private schools with award winning instructors, and for those desiring to further their education, Lake Land College has a campus in Effingham, and Eastern Illinois University and the University of Illinois are both easy commute.

Job Details-Requirements:

• Candidates must be Licensed Veterinarians. Recent graduates are welcome to apply as well.
• Surgical proficiency, excellent communication and record keeping skills are required.

We are a paper light facility so excellent computer skills are a must.
