Reporting to the Chief of Professional Relationships and Strategic Initiatives (CPRSI), the Director of Partnerships (DP) is responsible for driving the development and execution of strategic partnership initiatives to support the mission of the association, achieve strategic business objectives, drive growth in non-dues revenue, and grow AVMA member value. The DP will work with the CPRSI to identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships across the organization. The DP will have primary relationship management responsibility for the organization’s industry stakeholders.
Location:While AVMA headquarters are just outside of Chicago, in Schaumburg, IL, AVMA will consider someone based anywhere in the U.S., but they must be willing to travel to HQ quarterly.
Travel:Approximately 25% to HQ, conferences and events.

Responsibilities:
Working with the CPRSI, the DP develops and implements partnership strategies aligned with the AVMA’s mission, strategic objectives, and non-dues revenue goals while ensuring the highest level of service to members and stakeholders.
Identifies and prioritizes partnership opportunities to further the AVMA’s mission and strategic objectives.
Builds and maintains relationships with key partners, with a focus on industry stakeholders.
Coordinates meetings and communications with prospective and existing partners, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and follow-up.
Leads the negotiation and execution of partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with the organization’s governance frameworks.
Prepares partnership proposals, presentations, and contract documents for review and approval.
Maintains accurate records of partnership activities, including contacts, agreements, and performance metrics.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to facilitate the integration of partnership initiatives into marketing, events, and member value efforts, ensuring compliance with agreed deliverables, driving effectiveness and return on investment of initiatives.
Gathers, monitors, analyzes, and produces reports on partnership performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for optimization and improvement.
Stays updated on industry trends and activities to identify new partnership opportunities and potential risks.

Requirements:
7+ years of proven experience in partnership management, business development, or a related role.
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and identify partnership opportunities.
Must be an energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and excellent professional image.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of relevant industries and markets, with a focus on technology, digital media, or e-commerce.
Education:Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field; MBA preferred
